Rules Division One / Two

  1. The registration fee for each team will be £25.

  2. Teams are to consist of a minimum of 4 players, players to be selected by team captains.

  3. All matches to be started by 8:30pm. Late starts could incur teams a penalty.

  4. On completion of their first league game, a player is automatically registered with that team. However, to register, a player must play for their team before Christmas. After this date, new players must apply to the Management Committee in writing before playing for any team

  5. No transfers will be made without the approval of the Management Committee

  6. The League tables will be determined on a points basis. winning teams will receive an additional two points to their winning score. Drawing teams will receive an additional one point.

  7. The Division One format will be "best of three legs" as follows:- Two games of Pairs, 401 double start, Four games of singles, 301 double start, Two games of pairs, 501 straight start, Four games of singles 501 straight start. Players are permitted to play a maximum of four times in any one game. Once in each of the aforementioned. If players play in both games of pairs, they must play with a different partner in each

  8. The Knockout Cup will be played during the season, rules as per League matches. the draw will be made by the League Secretary. Dates for each round as per fixture list.

  9. In Knockout Cup matches, if the score reaches 6-6 a deciding leg will be played. One leg of four persons,1001 double start, nearest bull to see who throws first. Captains to select 4 players

  10. 48 Hours notice must be given to the opposing captain AND League Secretary on postponement of matches. Failure to do so will result in a 12-0 defeat. The game must then be played within 4 weeks. The team cancelling the match must be given three alternative dates, enabling the game to be played.

  11. All teams must state on their first result sheet the name and telephone number of their captain. A list will then be circulated to each team to ensure easier contact between teams.

  12. Results sheets must be handed in to the United Services Club, by the winning team, by 1pm on the Sunday following the game. If this is not done the winning team will forfeit the game 12-0.

  13. The throw will be 7ft 9 1/4 ins. An oche to be provided where possible.

  14. The minimum age of any player shall be 14, provided they are accompanied by an adult.

  15. There will be a 2 up 2 down promotion/relegation situation where possible.

  16. Every player in the MCDL must be a paid up member of the club they represent. Non compliance of this rule, will result in severe penalties for the team involved.

  17. No rearranged games to be played on a MCDL event evening. If games are played on such an evening then the result will be 0-0

  18. If teams are in a dead heat for champions, promotion or relegation, then the champions, promotion or relegation, will be decide by the legs won in the games between the teams involved. In the aforesaid. If the result is still a tie then a playoff match best of 12 legs will be played. If the score reaches 6-6 then one leg of four persons 1001 double start nearest the bull to see who throws first, will be played. Captains to select players.

  19. All points or disputes not covered by the above rules will be decided by the Management Committee.
